Mr. Bernreuter joined the ASU Prep faculty in the summer of 2015 as a teacher of Physics, Mathematics and Engineering. Having taught science and math to middle and high school students in Virginia, New York and Arizona, he brings more than 10 years of classroom experience, coupled with a decade of professional experience assisting in water infrastructure projects in Arizona. As a young man Mr. Bernreuter was influenced by Henry David Thoreau’s Walden. Nowadays, he sees the likes of Carl Sagan, Richard Feynman and Alan Lightman as influences in his teaching. He encourages his students to seek truth in reading the grand book of "the universe, which stands continually open to our gaze…". Outside the classroom, Mr. Bernreuter plays French Horn and enjoys going on adventures with his family. He received his B.S. in Physics from the University of Arizona and his M.S. in Earth Resources Engineering from Columbia University’s Henry Krumb School of Mines.
